Absent Home – Pen and Ink (11 x 14″)
Drawn in Chicago, IL when I was away on my travels. As far as the thoughts behind it go though the location could have been any number of cities, my own London included. Gentrification, be it the threat or the achieved reality, reaches everywhere. The traces of life evolved over centuries and stretched into every corner and portion of a city are slowly purged away to leave a perfect sterility, almost utopian to the architects of it but alien to those who have to live it.
